Be cyclone ready before the warning.
A local checks your home and yard, then hands you a written plan: what to fix first, what to pack, and what help you may be able to claim. I grew up in Ingham and Bushland Beach and got through Cyclone Yasi.
What you get
About an hour at your place, then a clear plan you can act on straight away.
A property walk-through
Yard, gutters, outdoor items, garage, access points, boats and trailers. I point out what could become a hazard in a blow.
A written plan
A short report with photos and a priority list: fix now, before the warning, and on the day.
Your 72-hour kit list
Water, food, radio, torches, medication, documents and cash, matched to your household, pets included.
Household plan
Who does what, where you go if told to leave, how you stay in touch, and your local storm tide zone.
Insurance and grants
What to ask your insurer, and which Queensland resilience programs to check for your address.
Local trade contacts
If something needs a licensed builder or engineer, I'll say so and can point you to local trades.

Simple pricing. Travel is free in Townsville; a small fee applies for Ingham, Cardwell and further out.

How it works
Three steps, and the first one is a phone call.

You show me around, I take photos and notes, and we talk through your household.
You get your plan
Your written report and checklists arrive by email, ready to print and stick on the fridge.
Common questions
Straight answers.
Is this a building inspection?
No. It's a visual household preparedness check. For structural concerns I'll refer you to a licensed builder or engineer.
Will this lower my insurance?
I can't promise that. I'll show you what to ask your insurer about, because some insurers offer discounts for certain upgrades and eligibility varies.
Are there grants to help with upgrades?
Queensland has run home resilience programs that help eligible homeowners pay part of approved works. Rounds open and close, so I'll show you what to check for your address.
Do you cover Ingham and Cardwell?
Yes, along with Townsville. A small travel fee applies outside Townsville.
When should I book?
Before the season gets busy, and well before a warning. Once a cyclone is on the way, it's too late to do the job properly.
